From Matsumoto Train Station
Matsumoto train station West “アルプス口 Alps Entrance”.
Go to traffic lights “Alps entrance アルプス口”. Turn right on riverside path. 2 minutes
“Habaue巾上” traffic lights, cross bridge and turn right. 2 minutes
Follow the narrow river road and we are between the river and ABC Pachinko & Slot. 1 minute

By Bus
Your bus will pass us by just before it goes under the railbridge at Matsumoto station. Look left and we are across the river in front of a big orange store, ABC.
The bus will then go to the other side of the train station to drop you at Matsumoto Bus Terminal. Your options are to come directly with lots of turns and steps or just go through Matsumoto station’s concourse and out the Alps West Guchi Exit to follow the easy directions above.
Buses arrive in Matsumoto daily from Tokyo/ Takayama/ Nagoya/ Kyoto/ Osaka. Examples of bus companies are Alpico Express, (from Tokyo Shinjuku/ Kyoto), or Nohi Bus (from Takayama/ Hirayu Onsen).
By Train
Matsumoto is well connected to other Japanese cities with three JR lines meeting here. A perfect base for JR Rail Pass users. A complete overview of how to get to Matsumoto can also be found here.
By Car
Please let us know if you are coming by car. Note that the narrow road along the river in front of MBP is closed to cars.
MBP is about a five minute drive from Matsumoto Interchange (more in the evening rush into the city) on the main Kamikochi to Matsumoto city road. Take a left at Habaue traffic lights and a right 50m past the bridge. Paid parking is available a short walk away.
